Statement of Policy
Our definition of human resources includes those services that not only heal and help, but enrich, educate and enhance our community and our lives. Programs listed in the 2-1-1 Santa Barbara County Online Directory meet at least one of the following criteria:
1. The program is a United Way member.
2. The program is located in Santa Barbara County, provides a health or social service and maintains non-profit status or a program of the government.
3. The agency is a non-profit service provider outside of Santa Barbara County providing needed services not available in our county.
Paid advertisements of additional health and social service resources and for-profit agencies are presented throughout the directory.

Both CAIRS and AIRS are professional organizations for Information and Referral providers. For services outside of Santa Barbara County, contact the 2-1-1 HelpLine office for referral to Information and Referral providers in other areas.

Information on the Community Resources Directory is continually updated and expanded. More extensive information such as National Hotlines, State and U.S. Government Programs and additional local phone numbers are maintained in our data bank. Program Directors are invited to bring new programs and changes in existing programs to our attention.
